Owning a Tesla is more than just driving an electric car, it’s a lifestyle! And this lifestyle comes with plenty of fun Tesla accessories for all aspects of electric car ownership—from chargers to car covers to Tesla tumblers.
1. Tesla CCS Charger Adapter by Lectron
Models: S,3, X, Y (If you know, you know ;-))
Cost: $200
Teslas are not your run-of-the-mill electric cars. They’re special. Right down to their charger port. When Elon launched the first Tesla in 2008 there was no such thing as a “standard” charger receptacle.
So, Tesla created its own charger port and plug. Since then the car industry has settled on the J1772 style plug as the standard plug for Level 2 Charging and the CCS1 plug style for DC to DC Fast Charging.
This means Tesla drivers must use Tesla Chargers to charge, or use charger adapters to access non-Tesla chargers. However, until the Lectron CCS Charger Adapter, Tesla drivers couldn’t use DC to DC Fast Chargers. With over 5000 fast chargers nationally a CCS fast charger is a must-have!
Important Notes From the Manufacturer: The maximum charge that the adapter can take is 150 kW. However, the performance depends on a few factors, such as: – Your Tesla’s battery status. If your battery level is low, the more power the adapter is able to take. – The DC charger you’re using. Some chargers are capped at 50, 60, or 70 kW and will not allow 150 kW. Keep in mind that the adapter’s electricity is only passing through the adapter. It simply converts the power for your Tesla and will not control the max power output. |
2. Tesla Tempered Glass Screen Protector by Spigen
Models: 3, Y, S, X
Cost: Model 3, Y: $40
Model S, X: $50
A screen protector for your Tesla’s large screen may seem like a gift for an excessively protective person, however a quick search on any Tesla forum will show the panic of Tesla owners that have scratched their precious screen and are looking for a remedy other than replacement.
Overprotective or not, the $50 for the 9H tempered glass is cheap insurance compared to the $2,000 cost of a replacement screen from the Tesla dealership.
The Tempered Glass Screen Protector by Spigen has an anti-glare coating that is fingerprint resistant and, of course, scratch-resistant. All this while still providing a clear screen that maintains its responsive touch abilities.
Spigen Tesla screen protectors have an average rating of 4.7 stars with over 6,600 reviews on Amazon. Each tempered glass screen protector is precision cut and comes with an installation alignment tool and video to ensure that your Tesla looks like new.
3. Tesla Sunroof Sunshade by SUMK
Models: 3, Y
Cost: Model 3 $55
Model Y $56
If you have spent any time in a Tesla on a 104-degree day, you may have noticed how that impressive panoramic roof can quickly become pretty inconvenient. Not only does it make the interior much hotter, but the increased efforts of the cooling systems also reduce your Tesla’s range.
Worry no more! The Tesla Sunroof Sunshade by SUMK can block two-thirds of the sun’s rays and significantly reduce the inside temperature of the car while still providing some outside light.
For extremely hot days or when your Tesla is parked in the sun, you may opt for the full reflective liner to completely block the UV light from entering. The Tesla sunshade comes with clips to secure the shade while the car is in motion.
4. BlackMaxx Car Cover by TSportline
Models: 3, Y, S, X
Cost: Model 3: $295
Model Y: $295
Model S: $395
Model X: $445
There is nothing sexier on your car than a contoured fit car cover. The sleek BlackMaxx Car Cover by TSportline fits that bill. The laser-cut cover features body-hugging lines, mirror pockets, and a convenient cut-out for charging.
Unlike a car cover for a gas-powered car, car covers for electric cars should have ventilation if you plan to charge your EV with the cover on. The BlacMaxx Car Cover by TSportline has vents on the front wheels and lower front valance to provide ventilation while charging.
The BlackMaxx Car Cover is made from a UV protectant and water-resistant silky thermoplastic polyurethane and two outer layers of woven polyester, allowing for breathability. Inside the cover is a soft fleece lining to ensure your baby doesn’t get any abrasive scratches from the cover.
5. Tesla Cam by SUMK
Models: 3, Y, S, X
Cost: $40
Increase your Tesla’s security by adding the Tesla Cam by SUMK. The Tesla Cam USB Drive enables both the Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Dashcam to record everything from the 8 cameras at the same time.
Tesla’s Sentry Mode monitors the environment around a car when it’s left unattended. When enabled, Sentry Mode enters a “Standby” state, like many home alarm systems, which uses the car’s external cameras to detect potential threats.
The Tesla Cam USB uses this feature to continuously record a 360-degree view while the car is left unattended and when it is being driven. With a preinstalled Tesla Cam folder there is no need for configuration. The Tesla Cam works on all Tesla models by simply inserting the Tesla Cam USB Drive into one of the USB ports in the console.
6. Tesla Lifting Jack Pad With Storage Case by Chirano
Models: 3, Y, S, X
Cost: $25
God forbid you have to deal with the expensive cost of tire repair on your Tesla. However, if you find yourself having to repair or simply rotate your tires in your garage you will need a set of Lifting Jack Pads by Chirano to protect your baby when using a jack or lift.
The underside of a Tesla is delicate. The side skirts of the body can easily be damaged with a traditional floor jack, and the Tesla’s expensive and potentially dangerous battery box is just a few inches away from the jack mounting points.
The high-quality rubber jack pads fit between the jack and your Tesla’s delicate body. They are designed to slide into the jack mounting points to always ensure that you are always lifting your Tesla from the correct location. The kit also comes with a convenient storage case so you can take the lift pads with you.
Important Notes:The ring on the end of the peg allows for the pad to stay in the hole until the jack or lift is in place. Model X: On the Model X the pin is a little looser than on the other models. You may need to hold the pad on the jack until the pressure from the Tesla holds it in place. Model Y: The customer reviews state that the peg is too long for the Model Y. Users trimmed the peg to allow the pad to sit flush with the Tesla body mount. To avoid the smell of off-gassing from the fresh rubber, several users recommended washing the pucks and allowing them to dry for a week before storing them in your Tesla. |
7. Tesla 20oz Tumbler
Model: 3, Y, S X
Cost: $30
Take a look at these beautiful stainless steel 20oz Tumblers. These high-quality mugs are made of double-walled stainless steel with a textured sweat-free powder coat. They are vacuum insulated for 2X cold or heat retention compared to glass or plastic containers.
With five colors to choose from these are perfect gifts for the Tesla lover in your family… and pick one up for yourself while you’re at it!
8. Frunk Insulated Cooler Bag by EVBOYS
Models: Y (Possibly 3)
Cost: $106
While it’s not likely that you’re going to take your Tesla on a camping trip, you might break it out for a tailgate party or well-planned road trip. Whatever the case, having an Insulated Cooler Bag by EVBOYS to keep your perishables and drinks cool is a must-have.
The Cooler Bag fits perfectly in the “Frunk” of a 2020-2022 Model Y, and some reviews state that with a little squeezing it can also fit into a Model 3. Keep in mind this cooler isn’t meant for ice storage or water retention. Despite the company saying this, many reviewers learned this by mistake and complained when their ice melted into their Frunk.
The Cooler Bag is made from double-stitched nylon fabric for strength and durability. The hot and cold-rated interior storage is lined with food-grade reflective aluminum foil membrane covering thermal insulation, keeping your cold items cold and the hot items hot.
Our favorite feature is that the Cooler Bag comes with a set of two, each with a strap allowing for easy portability once you reach your destination.
